Byzantine silver, lime
Byzantine ($40-$100)
This one is an oldie but goodie.
Oldie: The weave traces its origins to the Byzantine empire which covered the eastern half of the Roman empire (4th-15th century AD). Some historians say the Byzantine weave is one of the earliest chainmaille patterns to be developed, possibly around 300 BC.
Goodie: It looks like a rope, but made out of metal and can come in practically any color your heart desires. I never get tired of looking at the pattern. Other names for the weave are “Birdcage” and “Idiot’s Delight”. Totally not as cool of a name as Byzantine, but I do kinda feel like an idiot sometimes as I catch myself staring hypnotically at its pattern over long periods of time.
